David Kordansky Gallery seeks a highly motivated, extremely organized, efficient, and collaborative individual to join our team as Sales Assistant. Reporting to the Associate Director, Sales in Los Angeles, the Sales Assistant is a critical, cross-departmental role, responsible for supporting a range of significant administrative functions of the sales team. Primary responsibilities include generating sales and info PDFs; and detailed inventory and client data management. This position is a full-time role, Monday – Friday, and will require flexibility for additional hours based on the needs of the gallery. A generous benefits package is offered.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the Designer and Sales team to assemble, design, and update sales PDFs, ensuring high standards of accuracy are met
Format and update info PDFs for all artists, populating with new exhibitions and collections regularly
Provide assistance with image formatting for Sales team PDFs as needed
Provide general support for the PDF project timeline as needed
Send high-res images and captions to clients as requested
Update database records, third-party sales platforms, and other sales spreadsheets regularly
Participate in Sales team meetings and with the Sales Coordinator, monitor active sales communication threads, incorporating any updates to the sales PDFs and database as needed
With the Sales Coordinator, ensure sales iPads and inventory apps (such as Arternal, Artlogic, Artsy) are updated and accurate prior to every art fair and exhibition opening
Assist in the maintenance and organization of client lists (e.g. by interest, region) and keep contact records updated and accurate in ArtLogic and Arternal
Monitor, track, and regularly update client interest lists
Schedule, host and send notes for sales team meetings
Pack and ship complimentary books and artist packets to clients as needed
Occasionally serve as a public-facing representative of the gallery, communicating with visitors, artists, and collectors
General sales and office administration, including answering phones, sorting correspondence, and running errands
Assist with opening dinner set-up and guest check-in
Attend all Los Angeles gallery openings and other events, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Our ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented and creative with exceptional organizational skills; an excellent verbal and written communicator; and possesses the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. We seek candidates who are extremely self-motivated, responsible, and efficient, and who hold a sincere appreciation for and experience with navigating diverse cultural spaces. In addition:
Knowledge of and interest in contemporary art required
At least one (1) year of experience working in a contemporary art gallery, auction house, and/or contemporary art museum preferred
Professional experience in client-facing roles as well as experience in customer service, retail, and other office environments welcomed
BA in Art History or related field preferred, but consideration is given to candidates with related experience
Skills in a Mac-based environment required, including: Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Intermediate skills in Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop preferred; skills in InDesign strongly preferred
Basic knowledge of databases such as ArtLogic, ArtBase / FileMaker, or similar welcomed
Basic knowledge of sales platforms such as Arternal, ArtBinder, Private Views, and Artsy welcomed
Fluency in multiple languages welcomed
Preference is given to candidates with expert knowledge of global contemporary art, including art of the African Diaspora, Latin America, and Asia

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
This is a full-time hourly position (overtime eligible) at 40 hours per week.
The pay scale for this position is $25 – $32 per hour.
