DOYLE LANE IN THE NEW YORK TIMES
DOYLE LANE IN THE NEW YORK TIMES

Press
In a major review by Roberta Smith in The New York Times, Smith writes, “[Doyle Lane] created a dazzling universe of color, shape, texture and proportion. He also made ceramic tile, pendant jewelry, paintings and murals, but the “weed pot" is his signature. Kordansky’s generous display of 100 pots is Lane’s first solo show in New York. It is also a refresher course in close looking, and reminder of the power of form...Their originality is just one way that his weed pots surpassed craft to become art. They form a historical high point that reaches across mediums and cultures." Read the full review here.

ROYAL COMMISSION: DEREK FORDJOUR
ROYAL COMMISSION: DEREK FORDJOUR

ARTIST COMMISSION
Derek Fordjour was personally selected by His Majesty King Charles III as one of ten leading artists from Britain and around the world to create portraits of ten pioneering members of the Windrush Generation to mark the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the HMT Empire Windrush to British shores in 1948. Fordjour’s portrait of Sir Geoff Palmer OBE is on view in Windrush: Portraits of a Pioneering Generation from June 22 through mid-September at Edinburgh’s Royal Palace. The portraits will then go on view at the National Portrait Gallery in London in October. The portraits will become part of the Royal Collection and stand as a lasting memorial to all the men, women and children who came to Britain from the Caribbean and gave so much of themselves to rebuild a nation devasted by war.
